[Vx]Λερναῖα Ὕδρα

Hello again. This time we got a simple challenge at hand thought why not, the title says it all. It’s virus kinda stuff so treat it as such, don’t run it on your own machine, you’ve been warned.

Regarding the name Lernaîa (Λερναία) it basically means the Lernaean Hydra. I think you all know the Greek mythology thingy here, if not, do what I did and Google it. The name should be a hint at the nature of this challenge.

So expect multiple stages, and a piece that doesn’t forgive cheaters or patchers.

I had fun writing this one, it may be unstable for some or for all, should I know? not like i do this for a living You’ve been warned again. So I hope you have fun with this. You’ll get a single stripped x86-64 ELF binary good luck. I’d say not so hard not so easy, Something in between, or as this friend put it, misteriosa. So have fun… or not! you’ve been warned for the third time.

Man, you really scare me !

Nah it’s nothing. Have fun

Is a write-up something you’d be interested in all ?

From a high level it looks like you use stack strings and encrypted function names or arguments and direct syscalls instead of using the standard ABI but I didin’t have enough time to do more.

It’s more than that actually. Think of it as this is just the dropper, but I’ll give some time before I put the writeup, see if someone can break it and get the flag first. I highly doubt it though.

The problem is I just don’t have enough time right now. Sorry :frowning:

Nah, don’t worry about it, dude. Plus, I don’t want you solvin’ this in a day
